The Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women was established in 1994 by the Oklahoma Legislature to serve as an advisory body on equity issues relating to gender bias, to monitor legislation to determine whether it is discriminatory toward one gender or the other, to serve as a resource and clearinghouse for research on issues relating to women and gender bias, and to report annually to the governor, president pro-tempore, and the legislature.
